Hypertension

What is Hypertension?

Hypertension, also known as high blood pressure, is a condition in which the force of the blood against the walls of the arteries is consistently too high. This can lead to serious health complications such as heart disease, stroke, and kidney problems. Hypertension is often referred to as a "silent killer" because it typically has no symptoms but can cause significant damage to the body if left untreated. It is important to monitor and manage blood pressure levels to reduce the risk of complications associated with hypertension.

A healthcare professional wearing a white coat measures a patient's blood pressure using a sphygmomanometer. The patient's arm is positioned with the blood pressure cuff wrapped around it. The healthcare professional, specialized in nephrology, carefully reads the gauge to monitor for signs of kidney disease.
An elderly woman with short gray hair and glasses is sitting at a table, holding a piece of paper, and attentively listening to a healthcare professional specializing in nephrology. The doctor, seen from behind in a white coat, appears to be explaining details about her kidney disease in their serious conversation.
